It is mentioned that+Ik, +Ak ve +tIk have been used as an diminutive and caritative suffixes in texts of various periods of Turkish since Old Turkish; however, they are not productive. There are metaphoric uses of +Ik, +Ak and +tIk suffixes rather than functions of an diminutive and cartative. +Ik, +Ak ve +tIk suffixes have also been used to derive nicknames besides various names of entities frequently: Arük, Sülek, Bahtük, Cozuruk, Bıcırık, Bızırdık etc. However, it is understood that the suffixes of +Ik, +Ak ve +tIk derive the nickname but that of word-formation rules of Turkish: Arük, Sülek, Bahtük etc. The nicknames derived as ungrammatical are constructed from proper nouns usually. It can be asserted that ungrammatical nicknames consist of by way of analogy and nursery language.
