There is a rich culture in Safranbolu district which goes back to early periods in history. However, depending on the passing time period and changing techology, hand craftmenship and handcrafts are disappearing one by one. In the past, one of the most common fields of handicraft was mestmaking, which is a kind of boot making from mest. Often named after the type of shoes worn, production of these shoes completed with rubber is continuing today. In this study, the limited production of shoes with mest in the district of Safranbolu is examined. In order to support the study, information and photograhps of mest used in the construction tools, manufacturing process and product manufacture have been compiled.
