The increase in welfare level of Muslim population has led to their wish of having a holiday which is suitable for Islamic rules recently. If we take into consideration that the increase in number of Muslim holidaymakers in the future, for industry of tourism, halal tourism market which can be improved has drawn attention. The decrease in the number of tourists who visit our country and in tourism income as a result of political developments can be evaluated as a chance for the improvement of halal tourism market which is seen as a more special market. When we analyze the conceptual framework it is possible that there is no meaning unity about the term of ‘halal tourism’. The primary aim of the study is to analyze the term ‘halal tourism’ and its present situation in Turkey and whether it can be improved or not.
