The area surveyed for prehistoric periods since 2013 is within the boundaries of Şanlıurfa Central District. Neolithic, Paleolithic centers and trap areas were discovered in the area, as a result of 4 years of surface survey. Tepehan Mound is the most important and large-scale settlement among the Neolithic settlements discovered in 2017. Tepehan Höyük with its 112 decare area is the fourth largest mound after Göbekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe and Ayanlar Höyük, which are all located in the area. In addition to this, in 2017 many settlements belong to Late Roman have been identified.
