In our article, the information about linseed-plants, national yields and profits, agriculture, benefits, and history of linseedhouse in Cıldır, Posof, and Great Ardahan Districts in the XVI. Century is given. According to “Defter-i Mufassal Vilayet-i Gurcistan” cadastral record book dated 1595, income gained from linseed agriculture was 126 kile which is worth 1008 akçe in Cıldır District, 93 kile, which is worth 744 akçe in Posof District, and 15 kile which is worth 120 akçe in the Great Ardahan District. In the cadastral record books and lawbooks, factories that are used to derive oil from linseed plants’ seed are named as “bezirhane”.
