This article investigates the political discourse regarding gender which dominated Turkish political arena during 1980s. For the investigation, the Turkish parliamentary records between 1984 and 1990 were subjected to Critical Discourse Analysis to explore discriminatory discourses towards women. The article has concluded that the parliamentary debates during the period were not only occurred within a sexist discursive context but also they were interwoven with quite patriotic and sexist discourses.
