Üstün yetenekli öğrenciler çoklu potansiyele sahiptirler. Bu nedenle farklı alanlardaki başarı performansları son derece yüksektir. Fen ve sosyal bilimler liseleri öğrencilerin bu çoklu potansiyellerini sergileyebilecekleri önemli okullardır. Ülkemizdeki sosyal bilimler liselerinin geçmişi kısa ve fen liseleri ile karşılaştırıldığında sayıları azdır. Yüksek akademik performansa sahip olan bazı öğrenciler, son yıllarda fen liseleri yerine sosyal bilimler liselerini tercih etmektedirler. Geleneksel bakış açısına göre üstün yetenekliler genelde fen alanlarını tercih ederler. Bu araştırmada fen ve sosyal bilimler liselerinde okuyan öğrencilerin, mükemmeliyetçilik, benlik saygısı ve liderlik özellikleri arasındaki farkların incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırma 391 öğrenci (Fen lisesi=217, Sosyal Bilimler Lisesi=174) üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler Minnesota Danışma Envanterinin liderlik alt ölçeği, Çok Boyutlu Mükemmeliyetçilik Envanteri ve Benlik Saygısı Envanteri ile toplanmıştır. Mükemmeliyetçilik ölçeğinden elde edilen sonuçlar, sosyal bilimler lisesi öğrencilerinin hataya karşı aşırı ilgi ve ailesel eleştiri alt ölçeklerinden aldıkları puanların, fen lisesi öğrencilerinin puanlarından anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğunu göstermiştir. Fen ve sosyal bilimler lisesi öğrencilerinin liderlik özellikleri ile benlik saygıları arasında anlamlı farklar gözlenmemiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, fen ve sosyal bilimler liselerinde okuyan öğrencilerin bazı psiko-sosyal özellikleri arasında benzerlikler olduğunu göstermektedir.

Research 391 students (Sciences High School = 217, Social Sciences High School = 174) was performed on.
