A LOCAL ANECDOTE TYPE FROM REGION OF MERSİN: MUDAHHAR IN ERDEMLİ

The anecdotes that has been occured in oral culture from past to present are one of the richest kind of anonymous folk literature in terms of subject and numbers of sample. The anecdotes which are formed by co-creating power of public participation are occured to entertain, explain an idea and persuade. In this study, local anecdotes which is name “Mudahhar anecdotes” that are the important in tradition of telling anecdote in the Erdemli district of Mersin were examined. Yörüks who become passed from nomadic life in this region have made significant change in socio-cultural life. These changes took part in anecdotes with humors. In this article, 15 anecdotes that is anecdotes of Mudahhar type were complied from Erdemli center and its villages. They were analyzed in terms of form and content. Besides, types of Mudahhar anecdotes were examined in tradition of telling anecdote in Mersin and knowledges of socio-cultural life about function of these anecdotes were given. Finally, when Yörüks passed from nomadic life, they told their problems which is about their life with type of Mudahhar anecdotes.
