The article deals with collections of hand-written materials of Crimean Karaites which are stored in the Manuscripts Department of the National Library of Russia and Institute of Oriental Studies Russian Academy of Sciences (St.-Petersburg), the history of formation and contents of collections are considered in it. In the light of studying folklore of Crimean Karaites, in particular fairy tales, it is given the list of hand-written materials - medjuma, which containes samples of the national literature. It is stated that in spite of great philological, historical and cultural value of the found out manuscripts, they remain without due attention of experts. Researches in the given area can help with studying history, culture, literature, folklore and language not only of Crimean Karaites and the Crimean Tatars, but also of other Turkic people.
