Eugene PROKOFYEVA

Studying and saving the spiritual culture of a multinational region is absolutely essential in today’s world with its intensive economic and demographic changes. In the existing scientific works little attention is paid to studying languages, dialects and onomastikon, everyday history, city and village culture. Meanwhile, a great number of local social and language processes may be explained and predicted only referring to the culture and world outlook of the region’s residents. Finding out regional-national peculiarities of the nation’s world vision will let us solve the fundamental formation and development problems in Russian spiritual culture in Altai region.

Key words: the Russian language, cultural linguistics, worldview, mentality, toponyms, dialects
