PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS’ PERCEPTIONS OF INFORMATION LITERACY

The aim of this study is to explore prospective teachers’ perceptions of information literacy. Study group of this qualitative research consists of 30 prospective teachers enrolled at the Department of Elementary Education in Cumhuriyet University. Maximum variation sampling technique was used to choose the study group and totally 30 prospective teachers were interviewed. Data of the study were collected through an interview form comprised of six open-ended questions. Content analysis was utilized to analyze the data Prospective teachers emphasized that they would gain the skills of making research, problem solving, creative and critical thinking.
