TUVAN PROVERBS

This study, which has the subject of Tuvan proverbs within a rich verbal culture, sets out by informing about Tuvan proverbs concept. Then some studies related with Tuvan Proverbs were presented. After this presentaion, are discussed the subjects (themes), structure and functions of Tuvan proverbs. Proverb examples were taken from I. Plotkina's book (published in 1953) and B. K. Budup's book (published in 2010). This short subject (theme), structure and function assessment showed that Tuvan proverbs have revealed dramatically the basic judgments, the principles arising from these judgements, concepts of religion and morality and system of thought of Tuvas. Tuvan proverbs-having resemblances with proverbs of other Turkish societies-usually formed of two lines which has a poetic structure. Measurement, rhyme, verbal expression potentials and especially literary arts were effective on Tuvan proverbs to gain a poetic structure. The proverbs which have also common examples of one rhyme or sentence, prominence by not only their (thematic) and structural characteristics also with their purpose of pronunciation, their -due to time and place- and functionality.
