THE LANGUAGE RELATION BETWEEN ARMENIA AND TURKISH

Armenian language that we could observe the process of historical development from V. century, have been in interaction with Turkish language beginning from XI. century. Although the Armenians used the Armenian language among themselves, they gave the priority to Turkish language as a literary, speech and communication language. Especially after the establishment of the Ottoman Empire, they accepted the Turkish language as a second language. Thus, this interaction, in both languages, is noticeable. In this study, the development of Armenian-Turkish language relations in the historical process and the effects of each other will be tried to explain.
